Old Poland Bakery: Reviews & Ratings
Great little bakery in Greenpoint that will beat most of the neighborhood places by price and quality. I've been buying bread here for over five years to make sandwiches for my family. Croissants are bigger than usual, but that works well with my smoked salmon breakfast sandwich. My son loves the chicken sandwich I make with their harvest grain. Coming from a Russian background, you can find all the bread that is common in Eastern Europe. A staff member told me that they bake their bread at night at the pizza place nearby, which is a very charming small business story.
Great place. Has been there for ever price are really good food is amazing. A place I would like to visit more often. The Makowiec is reminding me of my childhood in Europe.
I got two things here, a butter bun and half bread-pudding-like triangle dessert (according to the staff.) The butter bun is big, soft and buttery enough. I made my fried fish burger with it. The dessert I got has a slice of cake as the base, then layers of soggy puffs, cream and berry jam in it which is mushy and has no texture. Overall 4 stars after considering the price!
Very tiny bakery in Greenpoint. Has been around for many years. We make a 45 minute drive a couple of times a year, and it’s worth it. Old time neighborhood with, gratefully, old time service. Woman working was very pleasant and patient. The pastries are very good. And the place smells nice.
The staff was super friendly. The cheesecake was great!! It wasn’t sweet, and it was super smooth and spongy. A pastry or cake that’s not sweet is the highest compliment from an Asian person. I’m glad I walked by and tried it out!
What a sweet place. I purchased potato and cheese pierogies, which were delicious and very reasonable. The varieties of polish foods and bakery items make this a go to when visiting Brooklyn. I will go back when next in the area.
Been here twice and the staff is so kind every time. Delicious poppy cake and most recently discovered this loaf cake that's a mix of marble/poppy with a cherry filling in the center. So good. I wish it were closer to me but at least it's right off the G train station.
Their Sourdough bread and babkas are phenomenal. Staff is friendly and attentive. Worth the trip and every penny!
